FIRST LEGO League Qualifier: Fairmont State University

Your FLL team may register for one qualifying event in West Virginia and hopefully be one of the 48 teams to earn a spot at the state championship tournament!   Your tournament registration fee of $50 is due at the door. Cash or checks made payable to the host (Fairmont State University) are accepted.   Purchase orders and credit cards will not be accepted. If this poses an issue for you, please contact Todd at Todd.I.Ensign@nasa.gov or 304-685-3146 immediately. All participants must also have completed consent and release forms at firstinspires.org. If you have team members that do not have completed forms, you must bring a hard copy for them to participate. Schedule: Doors will open at 8:30AM. Please do not arrive early; our volunteers will not be prepared for you. Judging and practice rounds begin at 9:30AM and run until 12:30PM. Official table rounds will begin at 1:30PM and run until ~ 3:30 PM. Closing ceremonies will start as soon after table rounds as possible, with the goal to be done no later than 4:30 PM. This is an official event. Teams will be judged on robot design, project, and core values, in addition to the robot game. Judging rubrics and the robot game score sheet can be found here:  https://www.firstinspires.org/resource-library/fll/challenge-and-resources Food can be found at a number of local fast food restaurants.  We expect to field 12 teams for each qualifying event and approximately half of the teams will advance to the State Championship. Note: Winning an award does not guarantee advancement to the State Championship. Please review the advancement criteria (http://www.firstlegoleague.org/sites/default/files/first-lego-league-judging-faq.pdf) for more information. If you have any questions prior to the competition, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
